WhaT happens when you finally listen,
not ONLY to the noise of the world, but to the quiet hum beneath it?
When life became too loud, Ellen Nasser began to listen.
What started as a few stolen minutes each morning turned into a practice of presence—a way of finding meaning in the ordinary and beauty in the heartache.
In Interlude: Happy(ish) Ever After, she traces a journey that begins with writing in her closet on the Canadian Prairies and moves through the wider landscapes of travel, motherhood, and self-rediscovery. From the land of the living skies of Saskatchewan to the unfamiliar roads of elsewhere, Nasser reflects on what it means to belong—to a place, to a family, to oneself.
Told with warmth, humour, and radical honesty, Interlude is a lyrical memoir about love, loss, and the quiet faith that grows in the midst of uncertainty. It’s a book for anyone navigating change, needing some solitude or learning to soften in a world that often demands the opposite.
Meet the voice behind the story
Rooted in the prairies of Saskatchewan, Ellen Nasser has spent her life turning everyday moments into art—through song, story, and the written word.
A graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, she began touring with Saskatchewan Express and performing with the Canadian Heritage Society’s Spirit of a Nation showcase. Her creative path has carried her from small-town stages to television sets and symphony halls—performing with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and the Victoria Symphony, singing on Norwegian Cruise Line, appearing on Corner Gas and Rabbit Fall, and sharing her music on country radio and beyond.
Now based in Saskatoon, Ellen brings her candid honesty, warmth, humour, and deep sense of presence to her writing—inviting audiences into a soulful pause, where reflection, motherhood, and melody meet.
